After coming back down the windy slopes of the volcano to the shores of Laguna (Lake) Llanquihue, the tour visited the Laguna Verde (Green Lagoon), so named because of the green colour caused by microscopic algae.
One of the interesting things about the lagoon, besides it colour, is how close its boundary is to the lake. It would appear from the image below that some intrepid souls tried digging the lagoon through to the lake.
At the end of the path past the Green Lagoon, there is a shelter on the edge of the lake where visitors can look out over the lake and back towards the end of the Green Lagoon.
