Brigadoon - An Occasional Corner on the Internet

To get from Punta Arenas to Ushuaia took the Crown Princess along the Chilean Fjords again and into the Beagle Channel. This trip provided a better of view of glaciers than the excursion to the Amalia Glacier. Although the weather wasn't perfect, the mist wasn't as thick. This leg also gave the opportunity to see "hanging glaciers", that is, glaciers that end on the land and not in the water.
As can be seen in the photo below, the glacier ends on the mountain side with water running from the glacier down into the channel.
As can be seen by the passengers watching the passing parade of glaciers, the weather was quite cold, even with the coffees being handed out by the crew, so Mark used that as an excuse to buy a jacket from one of the Crown Princess shops.
Although the weather was better than at the Amalia Glacier, the mist still obscured some views that would have bene really interesting on a clear day, but as they say, you have to do the best with what you are given.
